1 - For Lift Keel Yachts

The current lift keel Parker boats can trace their lineage back to the Seal 22 built by Bakers on the river Exe  in 1972. The first lift keel boat built by Parkers was the Super Seal 26 of which 34 were built before it became the Parker 27 following design modifications by Bill Parker who had acquired the building rights to these unique boats in 1981.

A Seal Sailing Association was formed in 1972 and membership was extended to include Parker class yachts, the successors to the Seal and now increasingly becoming the predominant class of the Association.

Membership is now in excess of 300 boats and is open to all new, present and past Parker owners.

It will be of interest to Parker owners that though a vote at the 2007 AGM, the name of the association was changed to the Parker & Seal Sailing Association to reflect the fact that owners of Parker boats are becoming the predominant group.

For new owners, membership of the PSSA in the first year of ownership is free during 2007.

The Association also has an active web site at www.sealasc.org.uk which contains an application for membership and much information for members including a bulletin board on which members can post queries and receive help from other owners, and correspond with other who share their knowledge and enthusiasm for their Parker boats.  To access this useful page click on the above address then select FORUMS or simply click here.

The Site also has a ‘boats for sale’ page through which many Parker boats have changed hands. The strength of the Association is one factor ensuring Parker boats retain such a high second hand value.

3 - For Sandhoppers

The Class Association was reformed in 1997 as the Sandhopper Class British Association following a resurgence of interest in the Class and a strong desire of the owners of the original 40 boats to protect the One Design status.

Since then the Class has gone from strength to strength with two very active fleets at Maylandsea Bay on the Blackwater , Thorpe Bay on the Thames Estuary and Parkers building 5 new boats since 2002.
