The
Sandhopper is the shallow draft version of the Squib Keelboat,
and you can't get better than that. She has the same delightful
handling qualities as the Squib, being feather light on the helm
at all times and has the added advantage of being able to lay
safely on exposed moorings which dry out at low tide.
The
underwater lines of the hull are as fine as possible to give
good performance in light airs and the sections above the
waterline are flared out to a generous beam of 6' 2''. This
combined with a ballast ratio of 55% gives ample stability and
power to carry full sail in Force 7.
With our considerable
experience and reputation in building International racing
dinghies over a period of 35 years we were appointed the RYA
Sole Licence builder of the National Squib Class in 1997
together with the shallower draught twin skeg replica hull
Sandhopper Class Parker Squibs have achieved a enviable
reputation for their quality build and finish with numerous
racing successes and National Championships, there are now over
50 Parker Squibs in Class racing around the UK and parts of
Europe.
